Many Ways to Get Involved

We have many ongoing programs, activities & initiatives to strategically achieve our mission. Check out the tabs under the "Engage" section in the main menu above for more information. DSCC also works with many local community partners to convene & facilitate planning & programming for a vibrant community. 

During the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have closed our office to the public and are hosting many of our community meetings via video and phone conference. Click on the events calendar link below to get information on how to join with is virtual via Google Hangouts.

Community Empowerment

DSCC has an active Community Empowerment committee that works on many facets of community facilitation and convening in our four service area neighborhoods.

Common Sound

Once a year in September the Common Sound Festival is planned & orchestrated by DSCC alongside a group of dedicated, community-minded, individuals that work on the many facets of event coordination, resident engagement, & fundraising for a day of fun everyone can enjoy!

Housing

DSCC has an active housing committee that works on many facets of housing stabilization in our four service area neighborhoods.

There are properties all over the DSCC service area owned by the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA) that create rehab opportunities.

With funding from the Community Development Administration (CDA) provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), DSCC is looking for developers to partner with and advance neighborhood vitality through community empowerment, housing stabilization, and real estate development.
